The function of hyaluronic acid in skin ageing
Hyaluronic acid (HS)
The level of hyaluronic acid in the skin falls gradually over
the years. Thanks to intensive research we now know more about
certain natural elements in the skin that are essential for
keeping a fresh-looking and youthful appearance. One of these is
hyaluronic acid.
The mission of hyaluronic acid:
The different functions that hyaluronic acid carries out in the
skin make it decisive in giving a smooth appearance of young
skin, because:
* it stimulates the cells in connective tissue to produce
collagen and other essential substances that keep the skin
supple.
* it has great moisture retention capacity, which means that the
skin does not dry out.
* it helps to supply nutrients to the skin.
* it is capable of capturing free radicals, thus reducing the
impact of environmental pollutants on the skin.
Reduction in the concentration of hyaluronic acid
The hyaluronic acid content in the skin gradually decreases over
the years. The image shows the concentration of this substance
from birth to old age. As a result of this reduction in the
level of hyaluronic acid the skin's structure is modified. Fewer
collagens and elastic fibres are produced. Furthermore, less
moisture is retained in the skin. Therefore, skin at later ages
does not contain an essential element for maintaining the
structure, suppleness and tightness of the skin. In other words,
the hyaluronic acid that has been spent means that the skin is
rougher, drier, flaccid and pale. Wrinkles start to appear. A
comparison can be made with an elastic band that has worn out
and lost its original elasticity.

Laser therapy
In the area of "Low Level Laser Therapy"
(Softlaser)
are the bio-stimulation lasers that are used for healing and
regenerating cells. Scientists and doctors have discovered that
the efficiency of laser therapy depends on many factors. First,
the performance of the equipment, then the wave frequency or the
depth of penetration (see the graph on the operation of the
laser). Our Vital laser works on the 3 main penetration depths:
(blue,
red and infra-red, all in one apparatus).

Our VitaCell-Gel and VitaCell-Gelpro
gels,
the latter containing collagen and both of them a maximum amount
of pure hyaluron, are nanonised hyaluronic gels. The molecule
chains of the hyaluronic acid are reduced through a special
process, which means that the gel can penetrate as far as the
germinative layer of the skin. The cells are then activated by
our infra-red laser, which makes the “network of molecules” in
the hyaluronic acid “join up again” and return to their original
intertwined state. The result is higher production of elastin
and collagen, which in turn leads to better stretching of the
skin. The hyaluronic acid is then eliminated slowly through the
lymphatic system.
