Laser
therapy
Laser
techniques have been introduced into many fields of our everyday
life. Laser beams consist of energy-rich condensed light
focussed on a tiny area with an optimal penetrative effect,
which stimulates cellular activity. This causes, among other
things, an improvement in metabolic activity at cellular level.
Laser therapy also promotes fast healing in injured or
overloaded soft tissue.

Sphere
of application
Pain-causing ailments occur as a result of wear, overload or
injuries in muscles, tendons and ligaments in the region of the
spine or in the limbs. Pain-causing conditions often have
lasting effects, especially in the case of osteoarthritis
(cartilage wear in the joints) and in delayed healing of soft
tissue. But these conditions need not necessarily be lasting as
they can be specifically alleviated or remedied with the help of
laser therapy.

Principles of treatment
Laser
therapy is applied on points of the surface of the body
(scanning). For acute disorders, 4-6 sessions are often enough.
Chronic disorders may require 10-12 sessions. The treatment
causes no pain, and depending on the area being treated, lasts
from 10 to 25 minutes. Laser therapy has no side effects. After
the session the patient may occasionally feel relaxed or even
tired.
